Fans had been hoping that BW would finally sign someone for the new season, and when Ulises de la Cruz, and more importantly, Ulrik Laursen left, it was deemed a matter of urgency that new faces were brought in. Couple that with the fact that we've suffered 3 successive defeats, losing 11 goals in the way meant that a new defender was more of a need than a hope.
25 year old Zambernardi is a left sided defender, and it is hope he will fill the problem position of left back, where of course we had Laursen. Assistant Manager Gerry McCabe revealed that Freddy Arpinon was a big factor in him signing a two year deal.
McCabe said: "He came over and played in a practice match and looked good. Freddie Arpinon knows Yannick after playing against him in France and he also recommended him."
Amir Karic is also reported to be back in Edinburgh to have a look round, but it is thought that BW will not be making a move for former Aberdeen starlet, David Rowson.
