Hibs' goalie Nick Colgan will not be going to the World Cup this summer.
Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy named his squad for Japan and Korea this morning and the former Bournemouth and Chelsea player's name was included.
McCarthy opted for Shay Given of Newcastle, Charlton's Dean Kiely and Blackburn's Alan Kelly.
World Cup heartbreak for Colgan
It was thought Nick would make the trip as 3rd choice behind Given and Kiely, but with Colgan losing his place at Easter Road to Tony Caig following a suspension McCarthy plumped for the Blackburn 'keeper.
Hibs will still have at least one representative at the showcase in the Far East, with Ulises de la Cruz already being named in the Ecuador squad.
