Hibernian, this morning, officially announced that work has started on the building of our New Fourth Stand.

The old faithful 'East Terrace' is to be demolished after our home game against St.Johnstone on February 27th with preperation for the building of the new stand already under way.

When the new stand, which will accomodate 6,400 fans, is complete it will give Easter Road an increased capacity of 20,250 making it the largest fully covered UEFA compliant football stadium outside of Glasgow.

Existing season ticket holders in the East Stand are to be relocated into our South Stand whilst work is ongoing and over the next few days they'll be getting letters dropping through their letterboxes explaining the temporary flit in more detail.

Work on the new stand is not envisioned to be complete for the start of next season though the stand could be open in a limited capacity.

With so much negative news regarding football clubs financial standings in the media these days it's refreshing to see that at least one club has got it's finances under control...and in that respect,  I think  Rod (the tache) Petrie deserves a massive pat on the back.......

Meanwhile over the city in Gorgie, work for their new £51 million pound stand (cough cough) is making fantastic advances as word has reached Hibs-mad that they have completed the revised paper mache model overcoming the world wide shortage of 'wallpaper paste' that had brought the world to a grinding hault....Well done hearts, your fans must be very proud of the way your management have overcome these hurdles.
