Franck is still contracted to Hibs as a player for another season, and no doubt it would be beneficial to everyone involved if a deal could be struck to end the contract. With the fianancial climate in Scottish Football pretty bleak, it doesn't make sense paying someone a four figure sum and us getting nothing in return for it, so the quicker a settlement is reached, the better.
Rod Petrie said: " I don't want to give a blow by blow account, but I met with Franck last week and oanother meeting has been arranged for a future date. The talks were amicable and I would like to think Franck's assertion we had been fair with him throughout this is still the case."
Franck is expected to meet Mr Petrie again very soon and we all hope this will be finalised soon.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Gary Caldwell will sign a new two year deal with Newcastle United, and then a long term loan deal with Coventry City.
Caldwell was a revelation on loan in Edinburgh at the end of last season, and it was hoped that he would come back on loan for the season. New Highfield Road boss Gary McAllister also fanices Gary and it's thought the new Scotland cap wold prefer to play in the Nationwide League division 1 with team pushing for the title rather than in the SPL.
