Given a new one year deal
Mathias Jack has signed a one year deal to stay at Easter Road.

Jack, who had been holding out for a deal to stay at Hibs despite being out of contract, was clearly delighted at putting pen to paper on the new contract. Jack said: "It has taken a long time but I'm pleased at the way things have gone. I never wanted to leave Scotland. It would be magnificent to be involved on Sunday against Hearts but I'm not dreaming. I've spent three seasons at Easter Road and the best one was when we did so well in the league and got to the Scottish Cup Final."

The former Dusseldorf defender continued: "Last season was difficult. When Bobby Williamson took over our whole season was pretty much ruined but he managed to rescue us and we are looking forward to bigger things this season."

Ipswich Town defender Amir Karic also wants to ply his trade at Easter Road. The Slovenian international has been on trial with the club this past week and said: "They seem very keen on and said they wanted to take me. I'm waiting to hear from my agent that everthing has been sorted out between the two clubs so I can make a fresh start. Hibs are playing Hearts on Saturday so I would love to be playing then, if not they are at home to Rangers the following week which would be a big game to play in."

I hope someone tells Amir the Hearts game has been moved to the Sunday, or he could be a VERY lonely man at Tynecastle at the weekend!

Meanwhile, Scotland have arranged a friendly to be played at our hallowed ground. Scotland's opponents will be Canada, and the match will take place on October 15. Expect to see a MASS of Hibees playing in that game......well, you never know, maybe Paul Fenwick will be called up....Or has he retired from interna......oh forget it!!
