Here we take a look at the players who left Easter Road this summer, either on permanent deals or on loan........
Chris Mueller - Chicago Fire - FREE - One of the most anticipated signings in a long time last January, on a pre-contract from MLS side Orlando City, only for him to flop massively and head back to the USA after 6 months. He didn't really get a proper run in the team, but didn't force his way in either, played 15 games, only started 6 and scored 1 goal all for a reported £10,000 a week!! - Apparently impressing back in the MLS.....
Sylvester Jasper - Fulham - Loan Terminated - Showed in flashes he could be a tricky little player, but was really inconsistent, Hibs didn't take up the clause inserted into his loan to sign him. Now with Bristol Rovers on loan.
James Scott - Hull City - Loan Terminated - Arrived on transfer deadline day last summer, and had a poor spell in Edinburgh. Went months without scoring a goal and struggled to hold down a first team spot. Finally found form in the last two games of the season, scoring 4 goals in two games, including a final day hat-trick. Still with Hull City.
Scott Allan - Arbroath - Released - A brilliant player for Hibs over three spells at Easter Road. The last 18 months of his Hibs career were blighted by serious injury. including heart problems that nearly ended his career. FInally found a club in the past few weeks. played 129 times for Hibs, scoring 17 goals.
Innes Murray - FC Edinburgh - Released - The Hibees signed the midfielder from Celtic's youth system, spent 8 years in Edinburgh, but he never made an appearance for our first team, had four loans spells with Stenhousemuir, Airdrie, Alloa and FC Edinburgh, before joining the latter this summer on a permanent deal.
Alex Gogic - St Mirren - Released - The Cypriot international started of his Hibs career in fine form, playing well and was one of the first names on the team-sheet. However, his form nose-dived and he soon found himself out of the starting eleven. Spent the latter part of last season on loan with the Buddies before a permanent transfer this summer.
Sean Mackie - Falkirk - Released - Mackie joined the Hibees back in 2016 for a reported £50,000 fee from Raith Rovers, as a 17-year-old, after making only one first team appearance for the Kirkcaldy club. He showed in glipses at Easter Road he was a decent player, but only made 22 appearances for the Hibees over 6 years, and had various loan spells, including Dundee and Raith Rovers whilst at Easter Road. Joined League One minnows Falkirk during the summer.
Jamie Murphy - St Johnstone - Released - Never really worked out for the veteran winger at Hibs, joined originally on loan from Rangers, then made the move permanent. However, he was constantly on the treatment table and struggled to play as many games as he would have liked, scored a few goals, but was mostly posted missing.
Drey Wright - St Johnstone - Released - Another who joined the Saints from Hibs this summer. Joined the Hibees from the Perth side and never really pulled up any trees in green and white. It was good for both parties he moved on in the summer, re-joining his former side. On the plus side, he scored against Rangers and Hearts.
Harry Clarke - Loan Terminated - Signed on loan for Stoke - Looked like he was going to be a huge player for Hibs this season. His initial loan at Easter Road was blighted by injury, but he ended the season really well. Hibs seen him as a big capture this summer, only for Arsenal to pull the plug and send him to Stoke City instead.
Matt Macey - Luton Town - £100,000 - Big Matt had his critics amongst the support, but he had some good games for the club. He was a decent keeper, but when it was made clear David Marshall was No.1, Macey soon left Edinburgh. Joined one of his former clubs back in London.
Paul McGinn - Motherwell - Released - Paul was a good player for the Hibees and had just triggered a 1-year extension to his contract due to games played, when new boss Lee Johnson arrived. His form at Easter Road seen him called up for the Scotland squad, then finally his first cap, left having played over 100 games.
David Mitchell - Partick Thistle - Released - Mitchell was a strange signing for the club, joined from Clyde for free, was 3rd choice keeper, never played a game, coached for a while, then left.
Darren McGregor - Semi-Retirement - Darren has dropped down to become player/coach for the development side. Had supossedly played his last game for the club, then appeared on the bench a few weeks ago due to injuries.
Daniel Mackay - Inverness Caley - LOAN - Young Danny has re-joined his former club on loan. Hibs paid the Highlanders a reported £200,000 fee for the winger, he started well but picked up an injury. Joined Killie on loan last season and won the Championship. Has dropped back down to gain more game time.
Josh Doig - Hellas Verona - £3.25m - Joined the Serie A club during the summer in a big-money transfer. Was fantastic for the club after breaking through from the academy. Man City, Arsenal and AC Milan were all linked - but he headed to Italy. Hibs banked £3.25m, as well as add-ons and a sell-on fee. Has started well, Has an assisted goal on his debut, then scored the winner on his first start against Sampdoria.
Runar Hauge - Dundalk - LOAN - Joined the league of Ireland side at the start of the window, has played a few games so far, not had a run yet. joined the Hibees from Bodo/Glimt last January.
Christian Doidge - Kilmarnock - LOAN - BIg Doidgy was a mainstay of the Hibs team for 2-3 seasons, scored some big goals for the club. However a horrible achilles injury and long-covid has seen him drop down the pecking order in Edinburgh. Will spend the season on loan in Ayrshire.
Dylan Tait - Arbroath - LOAN - Another who joined the Hibees for a decent fee, a reported £150,000 last January. Hasn't had a sniff of the first team and has now joined Arbroath on loan. He spent last season on loan with former club Raith Rovers and Kilmarnock.
