Hibs skipper Kevin Thomson today stated his desire to stay with his boyhood heroes and extend his stay at Easter Road.

Thomson and team mate Scott Brown have been linked with £6m moves away from Hibs, with strong interest from the English Premiership, Celtic, Rangers aswell as clubs in Russia, Germany and Belgium.

The Hibs star said:

"Me and Scott have always said we want to stay at this club.

"Everybody knows I'm a big Hibee and how much I love the club. I've made it clear I want to sign a new contract."

"As I've said if Hibs want to sell me then I would have to deal with that," the Hibs skipper said.

"At the moment I hope Hibs are happy with me as I'm happy with Hibs.

"I'm 110% focused on what I've got to do and giving my best for this club.

"When the manager came in he mentioned new contracts.

"I'm sure the situation will be resolved soon, hopefully the sooner the better as it's becoming a bit of a laugh and a joke in the press."

"I've made it clear I want to sign a new contract at Easter Road. I love playing here and I'm the skipper of the club. Long may it continue."

The saga continues.
