It has been revealed today that Hibs have entered talks to release winger Danny Carmichael.

The 26-year-old winger joined the Hibees from Queen of the South on a two-year-deal last summer.

Carmichael has only managed 9 appearances (only 4 starts) and 1 goal in a green and white shirt, following an abdominal injury that he struggled with for the whole of the 2015-16 season.

He has been linked with a return to the Doonhamers, with Ayr Utd & Livingston both said to be interested in his signature.

According to the tabloids Hibs boss Neil Lennon is looking to trim his squad, and reports suggest that Sam Stanton, Danny Handling & Jamie Insall could follow him out the Easter Road exit door.
