Hibs midfielder Scott Brown called up to Scotland squad!!

Last updated : 11 May 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs midfield dynamo Scott Brown's fairytale season continued today when he was named in the Scotland squad for the up coming games against Austria and the Faroe Islands.

Brown has had his best season in a Hibs shirt and could be on the verge of a £5m move to the English Premiership if reports are to be believed. Brown started his first match in a Scotland shirt against Italy in Bari, a couple of months back and also picked up the first winners medal of his career when Hibs lifted the Scottish League Cup in a 5-1 win over Kilmarnock at Hampden.

Now the Hi-Bees midfielder is in the squad for the friendly game against
Austria in Vienna on Wednesday 30th May and for the game in Toftir against the Faroe Islands in a Euro 2008 qualifier on June 6th.

Well done Scott.

There is baffling news however with the news that once again Hibs outstanding right back Steven Whittaker has been overlooked in favour of Rangers full back Alan Hutton and unknown
Derby defender Jay McEveley.

What does the guy have to do to get a call up??
