Accoridng to respected journo Alan Nixon, Hibs are eyeing a move for keeper Marko Marosi.

The 30-year-old Slovak is out-of-contract this summer, and he is currently in discussions with his club Shrewsbury Town about an extension.

However, the Hibees believe they can make the former Wigan and Coventry keeper an attractive offer, as they look for a new number 1 after the retirement of David Marshall.

New boss David Gray only has Jojo Wollacott at his disposal after youngster Murray Johnson was loaned out to Airdrieonians, and has been linked with a number of keepers.

Hibs are not the only club interested, with Rotherham also linked with the player.

Marosi is an experienced stopper, having played nearly 300 games in his career.

He has also been capped by Slovakia at U21 level.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:

We must admit, we know nothing about Marosi, but he has played a lot of games down south and looks decent on paper.

A new No.1 is a massive priority in the Sir David Gray re-build.
