Hibs have offered a deal to young Raith defender Sean Mackie, and will battle Hearts for his signature.
Mackie, 17, has only made one appearance for the Kirkcaldy club, but has both Edinburgh clubs chasing his signature.
According to the Edinburgh Evening News, Mackie spent time training at Hearts rented training facility at Riccarton last week, and impressed enough to be offered a 3-year-deal at Tynecastle.
However, Mackie then spent two days in talks with Hibs, and has been offered a 4-year-deal at Easter Road.
Mackie was then meant to spend a few days training at East Mains, but has instead asked for a few days to make his decision.
Whoever he signs for will be due to pay Raith Rovers a development fee.
Should he sign for Hibs, he would go into the club's development squad and be groomed to become first choice left back at the club.
