Hibernian this morning confirmed that Russian cracks FC Lokomotiv Moscow have shown an interest in Gary O'Connor and that the personal terms would be life changing for Gary and his family.
The rumoured transfer fee of £1.6 million is also said to be approaching what the club value our young striker who has scored prolifically over the last couple of seasons.
I for one will be sorry to se him go, but this must be a wonderful opportunity for Gary and one I'm sure he'll relish so early in his Senior footballing career.
Tony Mowbray had this to say this morning to the clubs Official site on the matter:-
“The personal terms proposed are exceptional and will simply be life changing for Garry and his family. We have to understand Garry’s position given it’s such a big opportunity for him.
“Over the last couple of matches, Garry has been very professional in maintaining his performance levels but this will become increasingly more difficult given the scale of rewards potentially on offer to him.
“Although the timing is clearly not ideal, we need to remember that the goals scored so far this season, in particular the 14 in the three Scottish Cup matches, have been well spread out. It’s not right to think that we as a team hang our hat on one particular player, it’s the collective effort of the squad and the team that’s important."
All the best Gary and Thanks for all those Goals
