Hibs today revealed that boss Tony Mowbray and assistant manager Mark Venus have signed new contracts at the club.
Mowbray and Venus both signed 2 year contracts at the start of last season and have now both signed 2-year rolling contracts.
Mowbray said:
"We didn't want to get into the situation where we were getting into the last year of our contracts and people would start to ask questions about our futures.
"That scenario has the potential to create uncertainties. We are asking players to sign new deals and we felt it was important we showed our commitment to Hibs and to bring stability.
"We've had discussions with the club and managed to sort something out and we are delighted."
Mowbray also revealed that his ex Boro team mate Mark Proctor had arrived as first team coach at Easter Road.
Proctor was assistant manager at Darlington last season.
Mowbray has been searching for a coach for over 2-years and the Hibs boss said:
"I've known Mark since we were young players together at Middlesbrough. He had a very good career and he is someone who has had a lot of success in taking Middlesbrough to two youth cup finals before moving to Darlington to work with his close friend David Hodgson.
"He saw a move to Hibs as an opportunity to broaden his horizons and his experience of football.
"I've been looking for some time for that extra member of staff and I'm delighted he's on board.
"I'm happy that the coaching side is coming together as we would like with myself, the two Marks, John Park, Gordon Marshall and the fitness staff.
"We are trying to improve all aspects of the club, to move it in the right direction."
Cracking news!!!!!!!!!!!
