According to a report in Norway, Hibs have made an improved second bid for Start full-back Kristoffer Tonnessen.
The Hibees have been linked with the player before, as they looked to replace Josh Doig, who was on the verge of a big money move.
Start director Terje Marcussen has confirmed that an earlier bid was rejected, but a club had come back with another, that club thought to be Hibs.
Speaking to website FVN.NO Marcussen said:
"We are starting to get closer to something that means that there can be an agreement but I don’t want to say anything other than there has been a new bid.”
ED'S VIEW:
It's good to see Hibs looking to bolster the defence.
The only worry is, does this mean Josh Doig is finally on his way out?
The Hibees also have Sean Mackie and Lewis Stevenson who can play left-back, would they sign a FOURTH if Doig was to stay?
It doesn't seem to fit.
MInd you, It could also mean Mackie or Stevenson are leaving?
Mackie has been suffering from a long-term injury for a while, and with no news of a comeback yet, surely he can't be leaving and joining anoter club injured?
Whatever the reason it promises to be a busy last few days in the transfer window for the club.
