Hibs appeal against Beuzelin red card rejected!

The SFA have tonight confirmed that Hibs appeal against Guillaume Beuzelin's red card against Rangers on Saturday has been dismissed.

'Boozy' was red carded after a collision with Rangers forward Kris Boyd, an incident in which the Rangers player CLEARLY pushes the Hibs star to the ground before there is a tangle of legs, Beuzelin received a straight red card for the 'offence'.

Referee Charlie Richmond has viewed the decision (with his blue tinted glasses on) and has decided he made the correct decision!!!!!!!

An SFA spokesman commented:

"Hibernian have lost a claim of wrongful dismissal in respect of the sending off of Guillaume Beuzelin for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity in the match against Rangers last Saturday.

"For claims for the offences of denying the opposing team or an opponent a goal or obvious goal-scoring opportunity as defined by law 12, the referee is given the opportunity of reviewing the circumstances of the sending off.

"If he indicates that he is content with his decision, the claim is dismissed automatically and is not referred to the review panel.

"Charlie Richmond was able to view a DVD of the match incident supplied by Hibernian FC and confirmed he was entirely satisfied with his decision.

"Claims for such offences are expected to demonstrate that an obvious refereeing error has occurred.

"This was not the case in this incident and, in the context of the application of the law, there was no error at all by the referee.

"The player is therefore suspended for Hibernian's match against Kilmarnock on May 5."
