Hibs ALLOW West Brom To Speak To Tony Mowbray!

Last updated : 12 October 2006 By Steve Forbes

Hibs this afternoon granted West Brom permission to speak to manager Tony Mowbray about the vacant manager's job at the English championship side.

Hibs told
West Brom to "up the ante" yesterday after Mowbray insisted he wanted to speak to West Brom, but West Brom compensation package was not considered high enough.

Mowbray has been in charge of the Hi-Bees for two and a half years and has done an excellent job, he has guided Hibs into
Europe again and a 3rd place finish in his first season and then a 4th place finish last season.

Mowbray would be a massive loss to Hibs and the support would be gutted.

Mind you, it looks like the West Brom support are not that excited about the possible appointment of the Hibs boss, even coming across as VERY arrogant(see link).

Not only are they having a go at the SPL, but at Mowbray aswell, pointing out that we are 7th, when two wins would see us go second.

Also having a go at the crowds in the SPL without having a proper look at the facts, citing the 6,800 at the St Mirren game away from home a few weeks back,
Love Street only holds 10,000.

Hibs took a following of 2,300 that day.

They are also having a go at the Hibs support, but don't realise we FILL the home end, pretty much every week.

The SPL is MORE than a match for the Championship.
