Hibs - Brown & Thomson NOT For Sale!!!!

Last updated : 16 November 2006 By Steve Forbes

Hibs boss John Collins this afternoon told Rangers to forget making any approach for Hibs & Scotland midfield duo Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson.

There is a lot of interest in the two exceptional midfielders.

Rangers are reported to be keen to offer a derisory combined fee of £3m for the two players and Celtic are also keeping tabs on both players.

Hibs boss Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News:

"£3m is nowhere near enough, they'd be wasting their time. It's miles away from what I value them at and that's what counts. They would have to break the bank and make an unbelievable offer we cannot refuse."

"They are Hibs players on long-term contracts and I am desperate for them to stay and at this moment the players are happy."

"It would take much, much more money than £3m and I don't think Rangers could afford them at this time."

Only last week Thomson told one of the
Glasgow rags that he and Broonaldo are keen to extend there deals at Hibs and Collins was glad to hear it, he said:

"That's what we are hoping to do. They have contracts at the moment, they are playing well and I am sure the chairman will make them new contract offers when he feels it is right."

Kevin Thomson, 22, is said to be interesting Tottenham Hotspur, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United, Anderlecht & Bolton aswell as Rangers & Celtic.

Scott Brown, 21, also has Rangers & Celtic after him aswell as Bolton,
Charlton Athletic, Anderlecht & Aston Villa amongst the interested parties.

Good to see Hibs telling the Old Firm to "do one".

They have both been penny pinching the best players in Scotland for decades.
