Gordon Marshall is to join the back-room staff at Hibs to take over from retiring Goalkeeping coach Ian Westwater.
Ian was told by his doctor he had to give up the physical side of his duties or face being crippled, due to an old injury rearing it's ugly head again.
Gordon Marshall will be in place from the 21st of November and Hibs manager Tony Mowbray had this to say on Gordons appointment:-
“After such a long and distinguished playing career, Gordon sees the movement into goalkeeper coaching as the next step in his career progression.
He is determined to make an impact as a coach and is very enthusiastic about the role at Hibernian.
"I am sure the tremendous amount of goalkeeping experience he has gained over the years will prove invaluable to the development of our current players. I am delighted that he has agreed to join us.”
From all at Hibs-mad can I say Welcome aboard Gordon and all the best to Westie whatever direction he takes now.
