Hibs boss Tony Mowbray today revealed that Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, has been on the phone to the Hibs gaffer and declared his interest in captain Gary Caldwell.
Rumours have been rife since the transfer window opened on January 1st that Celtic were after the 24 year old centre half, it now looks as though these rumours are true.
Since January the 1st Caldwell has been free to talk to any club he chooses, as his contract is up at the end of the season.
Celtic however are believed to prefer to sign Caldwell on a pre-contract agreement and wait until the end of the season to make there move, rather than pay a fee for the Scotland stopper, with Hibs believed to be looking for £500,000 for the player to move in the current transfer window.
Gary would be a massive loss to the club, and shock horror, one of the old squirm, want him on the cheap!
