Ex Iceland boss Atli Edvaldsson has become the latest candidate to throw his hat in the ring for the vacant Easter Road hot seat.

Edvaldsson is a former boss of KR Reykjavik, who he guided to a league and cup double.

Edvaldsson said:

"I am certainly interested in the job and know a lot about Scottish football and how tough the league is there.

"I saw how Celtic had lost a good points lead to Rangers right on the last day and I watch a lot of Scottish football on television.

"And my brother Johannes has lived there so long he is now more Scottish than Icelandic."

The former Iceland boss joins a growing list of candidates, who include Martin Ling, Colin Calderwood, John Hughes, ex Hibs No2 Mark Venus, Billy Reid, Michael O'Neill and Jim Gannon.

Hughes and Venus are the current front runners for the job, although some bookies have stopped taking bets on Jim Gannon landing the job.
