It’s been revealed today that young goalkeeper Thomas Flynn has become the latest player to be shown the door at Easter Road.

Hibs have 14 players out-of-contract in the summer, and boss Colin Calderwood is keen to re-build the squad over the pre-season.

Chris Hogg, Sol Bamba, Merouane Zemmama, Jonathan Grounds and Lee Currie have already left the club during January.

Kevin McBride, John Rankin, Ewan Moyes and now Flynn have all been told they can leave when their contracts expire in the summer.

Dutchman Edwin Graaf has also been sent out on loan, to Excelsior in his native Holland, after failing to impress since his transfer from NAC Breda last summer, and is also expected to leave Easter Road, despite still has a 12 months left on his contract.

20-year-old Flynn is currently on loan with Albion Rovers, and was part of the Hibees U19 side that landed the treble a couple of seasons ago, but Calderwood has told him he is free to leave.

Calderwood revealed yesterday that he has told the players, who are out-of-contract, who can leave, and who will be offered new deals.

There is expected to be a lot of movement down Easter Road, and it seems the axe has started to fall….
