English Championship strugglers Rotherham have contacted Hibs to talk to legendary manager Alan Stubbs over their vacant managers post.
However, Hibs CEO Leeann Dempster is expected to reject any move for the Scottish Cup winning manager
The Millers Chairman Tony Stewart, speaking to STV said:
“Alan Stubbs is one of our three favourites for the job but we will do things the right way. We must first ask Hibs for permission before we speak to Alan directly.”
The former Everton youth coach has seen his stock rise since taking charge at Easter Road, he has since taken the Hibees close to promotion back to the Premiership through the play-offs two seasons running, He also took the Hibees to Hampden in the Scottish Cup Semi Final last season.
He also took Hibs to the Scottish League Cup Final and won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years this season.
Ex Hibs boss Tony Mowbray, currently Coventry City manager, is also in the frame.
Stubbs is also said to be in the frame for the vacant jobs at former club Bolton Wanderers and also Blackburn Rovers.
