The sad news that former Hibs inside forward Bobby Kinloch has died was revealed by the club this afternoon.
Bobby was 79.
Kinloch was at Easter Road for three seasons, playing 34 games and scoring 22 goals, an excellent ratio in anyone's book.
His most famous goal is widely known, as he stepped up to score the late, winning, penalty against Barcelona at Easter Road in the 1960/61 Fairs Cup Quarter Final, to give the Hibees a second leg 3-2 win, and aggregate win of 7-6.
What is even more remarkable is the fact that the awarding of the penalty caused a protest from the Barca players and officials that lasted an incredible 13 mins!!
Bobby was still the coolest customer inside Easter Road as he slotted home after the long delay.
He also went on to score in the semi final against Roma, a tie that went on to a third play-off game that the Hibees lost in massive controversy.
Kinloch left to join Morton in 1962.
He also enjoyed spells with Berwick Rangers, Toronto City (Canada), Hamilton Steelers (Canada), Raith Rovers and Dunfermline.
He went on to win the Scottish Cup With the Pars in 1968, with a 3-1 win against Hearts.
Bobby was a regular at Easter Road until recently and was a popular figure at the club.
His grandsons, Max and Sam Todd have both represented the club at U20 level.
Everyone at Hibernian-Mad would like to pass on our condolences to Bobby's family and friends.
R.I.P Bobby.
