Pre-season result - Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Hibs

Last updated : 05 August 2009 By Steve Forbes

Hibs played out a 0-0 draw tonight, in their penultimate pre-season game, away at Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn had the Hibees under the cosh for most of the match, but there was some positive performances.

Moroccan magician Merouane Zemmama was once again looking dangerous, and Hibs really should have taken the lead from one of his corners after 32 minutes.

Zemmama put the corner in, and it was flicked on to the waiting Ian Murray at the back post, who somehow managed to head wide.

Hibs were backed by around 600 travelling supporters, and they would have been surprised to see Derek Riordan missing from the squad.

The forward was in trouble with the Police at the weekend, and did not even make it to the bench.

Hibs held out to gain a creditable 0-0 draw with the Premiership side, and now head to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, for their last warm up game before the SPL season kicks off.

Manager John Hughes gave every substitute a run out, except young keeper Thomas Flynn.

New goalkeeper Graham Stack was still missing through injury, but is expected to make an appearance on Saturday.
