Hibs have confirmed this afternoon that are to face a second Premiership side in pre-season, Blackburn Rovers.

A friendly has already been set up with Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium, for the testimonial of Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Now the Hibees have confirmed that they will make a trip to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood park three days before the visit to the Reebok.

The game will be played Wednesday 5th August, with 8pm kick off.

With a trip to Ireland also on the horizon to face Glentoran and Shamrock Rovers, and a visit to Easter Road by Preston NE, it promises to be a exciting pre-season for the Hibs support.

Hibs boss John Hughes told the official site:

"The opportunity for our players to compete against players from one of the best leagues in the world is a great opportunity and learning experience. This quality of opposition will test us in the vital period just before our Season commences."
