Hibs have today revealed that young Nathan Wood has returned to parent club Middlesbrough for the rest of his loan period.
The 19-year-old centre-back has struggled with his move to Edinburgh, only managing one appearance for the club, in a horrendous 0-3 loss to Dundee United at Easter Road.
He joined the Hibees on a season-long loan deal, but he has now headed back to Middlesbrough, but he won't be available for the English lower league club until the window opens and his loan deal can be terminated officially.
Hibernian-Mad View:
Not a surprising development here, Wood has struggled to break into the first team at Easter Road since his arrival.
He only managed one appearance in a horrible performance from the team in a 0-3 loss to Dundee United, and looked like a nervous wreck.
Ryan Porteous returned and he instantly loss his place in the side and was never seen again.
It's yet another example of just how underated the SPFL is, this lad was valued at £9m when he was signed.
Good luck to Nathan in the future, we are sure it will work out for him back at Middlesbrough.
