Hibs have today revealed that former Tottenham Hotspur and QPR midfielder Luke Amos is on trial.
The 26-year-old has been a free agent since the summer, following some horrendous luck with injury, but is now fit again, and Hibs boss Nick Montgomery has offered him the chance to win a contract at Easter Road.
Amos left the London club last summer after suffering a second anterior cruciate ligament injury of his career.
Speaking on the official club website, Monty said:
“You don’t play 150-plus games in the English Championship unless you’re a good player.
“He’s had a couple of injuries and found himself not signing for anybody at the start of the season but he’s got himself back fit and he’s been training with Tottenham Under-23s.
“We were going to take him to Dubai (for their recent warm-weather training camp) but it was probably a little bit too soon so he’s up training with us just now.
“He’s a very good player and it’s very rare that you have a player of that quality who is looking for a platform to get back on track so we’ll have a look and see how that one goes.”
HIBS-MAD VIEW
If we could get this guy fit and keep him fit, he would be a cracking signing.
He has excellent pedigree and would bolster a midfield badly needing new blood.
However, he has had two horrible injuries and Hibs are right to take a look first before diving in.
