Hibs keeper Matt Macey has today been linked with a rsummer eturn south, with Luton Town being linked with a move.
According to Scottish journalist Alan Nixon, the English Championship side are keen on taking the former Arsenal goalkeeper back down South.
There had been reports earlier this summer that Macey's agent had been hawking him round English club's, following the news Hibs were on the verge of signing Scoltand keeper David Marshall.
The Hibees followed through and landed Marshall on a two-year-deal. which seems to have signalled the end of Macey's stay in Edinburgh.
6ft 7in Macey arrived at Easter Road as back-up to Ofir Marciano in January 2021 until the end of the season, becoming Hibs cup goalkeeper in his first season, but following Marciano's summer move to Feyenoord, Macey stepped up to No.1, with Polish youngster Kevin Dabrowski becoming Number 2.
Macey still has a year left on his deal in Edinburgh, and Hibs could likely be looking for a fee for the player.
The 27-year-old made 44 appearances for the Hibees last season and has appeared in both the League Cup Final and Scottish Cup Final since signing for the club.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
We like big Matt.
He has had his fair share of criticism since joining the club, but all round he has been pretty solid.
However, David Marshall is a cracking singing and will be coming here to be number 1.
We can't see Macey wanting to drop down to No.2 again, and he will most likely want to leave.
We can see Hibs allowing him to leave, and Dabrowski playing back-up to Marshall.
However, will Luton be the destination for Macey?
