It's been revealed today that Hibs have missed out on the signing of Slovakian defender Lubomir Michalik.
The 28-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving English League One side Carlisle United.
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon had been keen to pair Michalik with captain James McPake in the centre of the Hibees defence, but an agreement could not be reached with the former Leeds and Bolton player.
His agent, (who he shares with former Dundee Utd keeper Dusan Pernis, who also turned down the Hibees), Paul Atkin said:
"Hibs made Lubo an offer but it wasn’t enough.”
The 6ft 4in defender is said to still be willing to discuss things further with Pat Fenlon, but it now seems the Hibees boss will move on to other targets.
