A big Hibs support travelled through to
Livingston tonight for the pre-season friendly with the first division side.

Hibs had most of the possession, in the first half of a typical pre-season friendly, without making too many chances. They did however play some good stuff and there are signs of another good side developing down Easter Road.

Hibs first clear cut chance fell to Benji at the back post and his volley look destined to hit the target, but a defender got across and blocked the shot.

David Murphy left the field of play early, with what looked like a leg knock, being replaced with young Ross Chisholm and Lewis Stevenson being moved to left back in the English full back's place.

Boozy and new boy Brian Kerr controlled the midfield and played some decent stuff without much of an end product.

Merouane Zemmama looked in a menacing mood from the off and was to finish his night on a high.

The best chance of the first half came the way of Clayton Donaldson, he was sent clean through on the Livingston keeper, but could only hit the ball straight at the goalie.

Half Time Livingston 0-0 Hibs

Livingston made a number of changes at half time and came out in the second half and put up a much stiffer test for the Hibees.

The ball mostly got bogged down in midfield in the second half, Hibs again having quite a lot of possession, but they constantly found a solid home defence, until late in the game.

Hibs made a few changes in the second half, Dean Shiels coming on for Clayton Donaldson, Steven Fletcher replaced Benjelloun and Torben Joneleit replacing Boozy.

Hibs finally took the lead with just a couple of minutes to go, Some neat work by Steven Fletcher was rounded off with a lovely through ball for DEAN SHIELS, who dispatched the ball past the Livi keeper into the bottom corner.

Amazingly, Hibs ran straight up the park and after a melee in the box, ended up being awarded a penalty. Ross Chisholm stepped up to take the penalty, unfortunately the keeper guessed the correct way and palmed it out, only for MEROUANE ZEMMAMA to smash in the rebound.

The final whistle sounded as soon as Livi took the kick off.

Full time:

Another good work out for the Hibees, although not the most fluent of performances, another win none the less.
