Hibs defender Sol Bamba has become a target for English Championship side Leicester City. The Ivory Coast defender’s contract is up at the end of the season, and it’s understood that Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is considering a cut-price £250,000 bid for the player, when the transfer window opens on January 1st. With Bamba out-of-contract in the summer, Hibs will have a decision to make, keep him until the summer, or cash in now? Eriksson is of course Bamba’s former international manager, so the Leicester boss knows all about the former Dunfermline players’ ability. Bamba was said to be attracting the interest of a number of high profile sides in the summer, including PSG, Monaco, Rennes, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers, but Hibs valuation of £2m was said to have scared those clubs off. The 25-year-old has been a revelation at Easter Road since singing from first division side Dunfermline in a £50,000 deal in 2008.
