Hibs have taken Ghana international striker Junior Agogo on trial at the club's East Mains Training Facility.
Hibees boss Colin Calderwood is desperate to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season, with only Garry O'Connor and Akpo Sodje as the only forwards on the books.
Add to that, the news that the powerful Sodje is injured and will miss the start the SPL season, makes signing a striker even more important.
31-year-old Agogo has had quite a nomadic career, that has seen him take in no less than 13 clubs on his travels.
He started at Sheffield Wednesday as a youngster, and was then loaned out to Oldham, Chester, Chesterfield and Lincoln to gain first team expereince.
Agogo then left Sheff Wed and spent two years in the MLS, and played for Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes during his stay in the U.S.
He then moved back to England and enjoyed his most productive spell of his career with spells at Barnet, Bristol Rovers and then Nottingham Forest.
His form at Forest earned him a £600,000 move to Egyptian giants Zamalek SC.
However his spell in Egypt turned sour, and he was released, which allowed him to sign for Cypriot side Apollon Limassol.
He spent 2 years with Limassol before his release in the summer.
Agogo has also played 27 times for Ghana, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has handed the 6ft striker a chance to impress at Easter Road.
He was meant to play some part against Barnsley in a pre-season friendly at Easter Road today, but the game was called off, due to a water-logged pitch.
Hibs next pre-season game is against Falkirk this midweek, and Agogo should play some part.
The Hibees also currently have 6ft 5in former Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan on trial.
Calderwood is keen to sign the CSKA Sofia player, but is waiting to hear if the Republic of Ireland international can agree his release from the Bulgarian giants.
