Hibs boss Hughes is confident Levein will give serious consideration to more than one of his players, but insists he will not put the former Dundee United manager under any pressure to include them in next month's friendly against Czech Republic.
"Craig'll decide that," Hughes said. "If my players are playing to form, I'm quite sure Craig'll think one of two of them are worth a look at.
"If that is the case, great. I'm just a proud guy when they do get called up."
Hibs' Scottish stars cannot allow their club form to slip in the next month if they are to stand a chance of selection.
And Hughes urged them to focus fully on keeping the Edinburgh outfit in the SPL's top three ahead of tomorrow night's visit of Aberdeen.
"The next month's vital to where we want to go, starting with the Aberdeen game," he said.
Much has been made of Hibs going second if they win their game in hand over Celtic.
The extra match, away at St Johnstone, does not arrive until next week but Hughes can understand why supporters might already be dreaming of splitting the Old Firm.
"We all do that," said the Hibs boss, whose side will go second anyway tomorrow if they win and Celtic lose to Hearts.
"We all like to sit back and say, 'If we can do this and do that'.
"But it's up to the players to use the old cliche of 'One game at a time'."
Hughes is taking nothing for granted against an out-of-sorts Aberdeen side, though he believes opposite number Mark McGhee's decision to sell striker Lee Miller on transfer deadline day has made the Dons' task of winning matches more difficult.
"I've got great respect for the job Mark's doing, he's got some fantastic young players in his team," Hughes said.
"The last few years they've lost a lot of top-class players. The latest one to go is Lee Miller, he's going to be a hard act to follow."
