Hibs have revealed that young midfielder Rueben McAllister has joined Cove Rangers.

The 18-year-old has joined the Scottish League One side on loan until January 2025.

McAllister spent time on loan with Kelty Hearts last season, playing 11 times for the League One club.

He made his Hibs debut against Inter Club d'Escaldes in the Uefa Conference League.

Hibernian FC Sporting Director, Malky Mackay said:

“This is a good opportunity for Reuben to get more senior minutes at a competitive level.

“He has played in League One before, so he knows what challenge to expect and this will be another good test of his physical development.

“Reuben is a great kid, with a fantastic attitude and we are all looking forward to following his progress closely.”

Despite being only 16 at the time, Hibs splashed out a reported £500,000 for McAllister from Bristol City in July 2022.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

A kid with a huge future with the club.

We shelled out a big fee for him, and much is expected from him in the coming seasons.

Getting out and getting some much needed minutes into him is huge for the lad and should stand him in good stead for the future.

Good luck Rueben.
