Hibs youngster Murray Aiken has today re-joined Airdrieonians on loan.

The 19-year-old spent part of last season on loan with Championship club before picking up an injury.

Murray will now return to the side managed by Rhys McCabe until January 1st 2025.

The midfielder played 18 times with Airdrie last season, and now gets to return to continue his development.

Aiken has already made his Hibs debut in a 4-0 win over St Johnstone in 2022, The club will be hoping this move helps him make many more.

Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay commented:

“This is another good opportunity for Murray to gain more experience playing senior football at a good level and a club that he knows well.

“Murray impressed during his first loan spell with Airdrieonians last season, and this is a good chance for him to build on that and get more minutes under his belt between now and the end of the year.

“I’d like to thank Airdrie for the smooth handling of the loan and we look forward to seeing how he progresses.”

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

A good move for Murray.

More game time in the Championship is massive for someone aged just 19.

Hopefully he can return in January and be ready to fight for a first team spot.
