Hibs have today confirmed that young defender Ben Stirling has left the club for Hamilton Accies.
The 22-year-old graduated from the Hibees academy, and has been out on loan to the likes of Arbroath and Alloa.
Stirling was promoted to the first team squad this season, but has struggled to break into an in-form side.
Hamilton have swooped and the youngster wanted first team football.
Speaking to the official website, Hibs boss Jack Ross said:
“I have a lot of time for Ben and the ‘easy’ thing for me to do would be to keep him here – particularly when he can play in a few positions.
“However, he’s at a point in his career when he needs and deserves to be playing regularly. He’s a great boy to work with and the last thing I’d want to do would be to stall his development.
“It’s a great move for him and I’ve no doubt he’ll do well at Hamilton.”

A good move for the lad.
He struggled to get into the Hibs side, but will look to former Easter Road team mate Scott Martin, who has played well since signing for the Accies from Hibs.
Good luck Ben.
