Hibs Women have today announced the signing of midfielder Naomi Powell.

The American has joined the Hibees on a one-year-deal after leaving English side Nottingham Forest during the summer.

Youngster Powell has been on trial with Grant Scott's side and travelled with the squad for their recent trip over to Cork in Ireland, and she has played in a couple of friendlies.

Powell started her career with North Carolina State University, before moving to Forest in July 2021, after relocating to study at Nottingham University.

She won the League and Cup Double with Forest, playing over 60 games for the club.

Speaking to the official club website, Powell said:

“I’m really looking forward to the new season, it’s a new experience for me, especially being a part of this great club - the pioneers of football. The SWPL is a bit of a step up in terms of the level of play, the speed, and quality of the players, but I’m really looking forward to gaining experience, developing and learning. I want to win games with Hibs and try to get to the top end of the table.”

Hibs Women boss Scott added:

“We’re delighted to have Naomi join the Club. In training and friendly matches over the past couple weeks she showed that she is a player with real quality, and she adds composure and consistency to our midfield.

“Myself and the rest of the staff are looking forward to working with Naomi and having her as a part of the team.”

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Another one in the door for the Women, and she has good pedigree.

Hibs boss Grant Scott is really starting to put his squad together and Powell looks a real quailty addition to the squad.

Welcome to the Hibees Naomi!!
