Hibs Women have tonight announced the signing of Kirsten Reilly on a pre-contract agreement from Crystal Palace.
The 28-year-old midfielder will join the Hibees upon the expiration of her current contract and has agreed to a two-year deal.
Reilly began her career with the West Alabama Tigers at the University in America, spending three years in the States from 2013 to 2016.
She then transferred to Stirling University, where she played for one year before joining the Hibees for the 2018-19 season.
Her tenure in Leith was notably successful; she secured a cup double, finished as runners-up in the league, and participated in the Women's Champions League.
Reilly started her second season strongly with Hibs, clinching another SWPL Cup again, before England came calling.
In 2019, Bristol City recruited her, and she moved south.
Reilly returned to Scotland in 2021, signing with Rangers and securing the SWPL title during the 2021/22 season.
A move to Palace was next in 2022, where she spent 2 years.
Speaking to the official club website, Kirsten said:
“I’m so excited and so glad to be back, I’ve supported the Club all my life and playing for the badge again is going to feel great.
“The last time I was here, we won a few trophies, and that feeling was really good. It’s our aim to start doing that again!”
Hibs boss Grant Scott added:
“I'm thrilled to have Kirsten back with us here at Hibernian. Her talent, experience, and passion for the Club makes her an invaluable addition to our squad.
“We look forward to seeing her make an impact over the next two years.”
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
A quite brilliant signing for the Hibees.
Kirsty was a big part of Hibs sucess under Scott before, and at 28 is still in her prime.
A very good signing.
Welcome back Kirsty!
