Hibs have tonight revealed that winger Jair Tavares has joined fellow Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.

The former Benfica man has joined the Steelmen on loan until the end of the season.

23-year-old Tavares has played 43 times for the Hibees.

Hibs head coach David Gray, speaking to the official club website said:

“Jair hasn’t had the game-time he would’ve hoped for at this stage of his Hibs career.

“He’s been good to work with and he works hard on his game every day. This loan gives him an opportunity to gain regular game-time, which will benefit him at this stage of his career. He will relish this opportunity, and I wish him all the best for the rest of the season.”

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

The first bit of movement on transfer deadline day.

This is a good move for both parties, Jair has fallen way down the pecking order at Easter Road, following a number of signings in the forward positions.

He was yet to make an appearance in the league and only got glimpses in the Premier Sports Cup

This move could re-ignite his Hibs career, or win him a move away, should he impress at Fir Park.

Good Luck Jair.
