Hibs have today confirmed that winger Daniel Mackay has joined Livingston.
The 22-year-old has joined the West Lothian club on loan for the whole of 2023/24 campaign, and there is also the option to buy for Livi.
Mackay has featured quite regulary for the first team this pre-season and it was excpected that he would challenge for a first team spot this season, after several loan spells away from Easter Road, after joining from Inverness Caley in a reported £200,000 deal in 2021.
He spent time on loan with Kilmarnock and then a return to Inverness, which seen him score against Celtic in last season's Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.
HIBS-MAD VIEW
We are surprised by this one, we really thought Mackay would get a chance to shine for the first team this season.
He featured quite heavily in pre-season, which suggested Lee Johnson may give him a chance.
However his future now seems unclear, especially with a possibility to buy option included in his loan to Livingston.
Another point is that we now look short in the winger department, are we going into the market again?
