Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has handed a trial to former French U21 international Dominique Malonga.
The 25-year-old striker is currently a free agent after leaving Italian side Cesena.
Malonga started his career with Serie A side Torino, making 9 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
He then spent a loan period with another Italian side Foggia, making 10 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
His form soon attracted the interest of another Serie B side Cesena, again a loan, where he won the Serie B title, that led to an eventual 1.4m Euro move to the club.
Malonga played over 50 games and scored 20 goals, but due to Cesena being relegated back to Serie B, they couldn't afford his wages so he was loaned out.
Another Italian side, this time Serie B side Vicenza, was his next destination. He played 38 games scoring 10 goals.
Malonga then spent last season on loan at Spanish side Real Murcia. He played 25 games, scoring 7 goals, which helped Murcia finish 4th in the Spanish 2nd division.
He was then told he had no future at his club upon his return to Cesena, and as of last week is a free agent.
Hibs boss Alan Stubbs is on the look-out for another forward after main stsriker Farid El Alagui ruptured his achilles tendon at the weekend, which could see him face up to 6 months on the treatment table.
Malonga seems to be the same style of player as El Alagui, and the 6ft 2in, powerful hitman will spend the next few days/week trying to win himself a deal at Easter Road.
