Hibs have today been linked with a move for Derby County centre half Russell Anderson.
The Hibees have failed twice, over the last two transfer windows to sign the former Aberdeen and Sunderland player, but new boss Pat Fenlon is being linked with a swoop.
Anderson spent 11 years at Pittodrie before moving to Premiership side Sunderland in a £1m deal during the summer of 2007.
His four years in England have been plagued with injury, with him only making 1 appearance for Sunderland, before being loaned out to both Plymouth Argyle and Burnley.
In January 2010 he then signed for Derby County as a free agent, and again most of his time with the Rams was spent on the treatment table.
The 33-year-old is now a free agent and has returned to Aberdeen to complete his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury.
Aberdeen are keen on resigning their former captain, and are said to have first option to sign the player, but according to press reports from up North, Hibs could be ready to throw a spanner in the works, by making the 11 times capped Scotland international an offer.
