Hibs have tonight found out their opponents in the Europa League 3rd round Qualifier next week. Slovenian side NK Maribor won 2-0 against Hungarians Videoton tonight, to win 3-1 on aggregate, and set up a date with the Hibees. Volaš was the Maribor hero, scoring both goals, and sending out a warning to watching Hibees assistant boss Brian Rice. The win for Maribor also ended the chance of re-match with Videoton, who the Hibees emptied from Europe in 1989, winning 4-0 on aggregate. Maribor also won resoundingly at the weekend, as the Slovenian season kicked off, with a 5-0 win over Triglav Gorenjska. The first leg of the game will be played next Thursday, as the cabbage head out to Slovenia, with the return leg at Easter Road the following Thursday, 5th August.
