Hibs are hot on the trail of out-of-favour Sunderland forward Anthony Stokes.
Hibs boss John Hughes signed Stokes on loan from Arsenal, while he was manager at Falkirk, and it now seems he is keen to bring him to Easter Road.
New Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is set to have to have a clear out at the Stadium of Light, so he can start to build his own side.
Stokes cost Sunderland £2m from Arsenal, after having an incredible half season with Falkirk in the SPL, scoring 14 goals in 16 games.
Sunderland would have to take a huge loss on Stokes should he move to Easter Road, with the fee likely to be in the region of £300,000, raised by the sale of Steven Fletcher and Rob Jones.
Jones is expected to leave Hibs, with a move back to England his preference, with Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Bristol City and Colchester United chasing his signature.
The Hibees £4m rated forward Steven Fletcher is another who could leave Edinburgh this summer, and Stokes is high on shortlist of replacements should he go.
