Hibs have been handed a boost tonight, with the news that striker Anthony Stokes will be free to start next season, after avoiding a ban at Hampden today. The 21-year-old Irish international was up in front of the SFA, after his late tackle on Celtic player Landry N’Guemo, during the Hibees 3-2 loss at Parkhead last month. Referee Stephen Finnie missed the tackle, but the SFA decided to take action, and have hit Stokes with 3 points on his disciplinary record to take his tally to 12, which is the threshold limit before a ban. Stokes was charged with “unsporting behaviour of a reckless and dangerous nature”, but he has avoided a ban that would have ran in to next season.
