Hibs boss Terry Butcher has revealed that striker Paul Heffernan is facing six weeks on the sidelines.
The 31-year-old pulled up with a thigh strain only five minutes into Saturday's 0-0 draw with St Mirren in Paisley.
Butcher now fears that he could lose the former Killie man for as much as six weeks.
He said:
"It could be three to six weeks; we're not too sure yet; we're waiting on the results of a scan," Butcher told the club's official website.
"It's unlucky for Paul but it gives other people, like James Collins, a chance to get into the team.
"When one door closes, another one opens."
A big loss for the new manager.
