Hibs have today revealed that young striker Josh O'Connor has signed for Crusaders.
The 20-year-old has joined the Irish Premier League side on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, with a sell-on included in the deal.
O'Connor, son of former Hibs and Scotland striker Garry, has recently spent time on loan with fellow Irish side Dundalk.
Crusaders have moved quickly to secure the youngster on an 18 month deal, on the first day of the January transfer window.
O'Connor made his way through the Hibees youth system, winning the CAS Elite league and playing in the Uefa Youth Champions League for the Hibees against the likes of Molde and Borussia Dortmund.
He made his first team debut against Aberdeen aged 17, but only managed 2 appearances overall.
O'Connor also had a previous successful spell on loan with Airdrieonians, playing 33 times, scoring 7 times and winning the Scottish Challenge Cup during the 2023-24 season.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
A good move for Josh.
His Hibs career has stagnated over the last 18 months, and a new start will be massive for him.
He was once seen as one of the next big things to come out the Hibs academy, but never forced his way into the first team plans for any considerable time.
Good luck kid.
