Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has revealed that forward Paul Heffernan has turned down a move to St Johnstone.

The 32-year-old former Kilmarnock man was apparently offered a long term deal on higher wages to move to the Premiership side.

Heffernan turned down the move as he "loves it at Hibs".

Hibs boss Stubbs said:

“Paul did not want to go. He said he loves it here and wants to stay and fight for his place. I’m happy with that, it’s really great for the club’s point of view and mine that we have players who do not want to leave.

“It tells you that maybe we are doing something right.”

St Johnstone have now moved for Dundee Utd striker Danny Graham on loan instead, as they look to replace the goals of Stevie May who joined Sheffield Wednesday in a £800,000 deal this summer.
