Hibs striker Dylan Vente joins PEC Zwolle on loan

Hibs have today revealed that striker Dylan Vente has joined Dutch Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle.

The hitman has returned to his homeland on a season-long loan deal.

25-year-old Vente joined the Hibees in a £700,000 deal from Roda JC last summer and he has had a mixed year in Leith, scoring 11 goals in 43 games for the Hibees.

His form has fell of a cliff lately, and Hibs have now moved to give him a fresh start away from Easter Road.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Davd Gray said:

“Dylan is a player that I’ve really enjoyed working with every day because of his professionalism and desire to get better.

“He has undoubted quality, but at this moment in time, it just hasn’t quite worked out for Dylan. His move provides an opportunity to go home and hopefully start playing regularly with a smile on his face again. I wish him all the best for the rest of the season.”

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

We are a bit dissapointed with this one, but glad it's not a permanent deal.

Vente was played out of position last season, almost as an attacking midfielder by former boss Nick Montgomery and his form and goal getting suffered.

He came back in pre-season looking refreshed and scored a hat-trick in his first game, against Elgin City in the Premier Sports Cup, but hasn't scored since.

Sir Dave has now decided to allow him to return home.

This could be a good move, a return home may help his confidence, and if he scores goals, he could return next season a different player that could bolster us, or be sold on.

Good luck Dylan.
