Hibs striker Derek Riordan today revealed that he has all but played his last game for the club. The 28-year-old hitman is out of contract in the summer, and is set to hold talks about a new deal at Easter Road, but he has hinted that he wants to leave and try something new. Riordan said: "I have no idea what the future holds but the manager said he would speak with me at the end of the season. "It's down to Hibs but I believe I need a fresh challenge. I have played in the SPL for nine years and it's maybe better to move. Anywhere would be my preferred option. "We played Hamilton last week and there were only 2000 fans there. And when you are sitting on the bench and see a shopping centre behind the goal, it's not the best. "It gets monotonous playing in the same league and against the same teams. "I know if I had got games with Celtic I would have finished top scorer but Kenny Miller got a run in the team before me. "Gordon Starchan told me I would get a chance but I never did. "The only positive I can take from this season is that I finished top scorer and I was happy to get a goal for Eddie Turnbull and his family." Riordan scored his 11th goal of the season for the Hibees against Aberdeen yesterday, and once again finished top goalscorer at the club for the season. The striker left the club once before, for an ill fated spell with Celtic, and boss Colin Calderwood also hinted that Riordan is set to leave, he added: "I subbed Derek so he could get an ovation in case we don't reach an agreement. It is edging towards him not staying." Riordan has played 260 for the Hibees, scoring 104 goals for the club. He is the 3rd highest scorer in SPL history, behind Kris Boyd and Henrik Larsson, with 95 goals.
